Oceans Republic was founded with a problem in mind: single-use plastic. Nearly twelve million tons of plastic ends up in the ocean every year causing havoc in the food chain of the marine ecosystem. We found our business opportunity helping to solve this biggest problem of plastic pollution.
This problem is wreaking havoc on our oceans and marine life, while also contributing to global warming. We decided that enough was enough, and set out to create an eco-friendly solution.
Through years of research and development, we developed bamboo products that are biodegradable and sustainable. We believe these products can make a real difference in reducing single-use plastic pollution and its devastating effects on the environment.

Our Story
In 2020, Oceans Republic was founded by entrepreneurs & partners Nguyen Huong Xuan and Swarnendu Sarkar with a mission to create sustainable bamboo products that would make a positive impact on the environment. With an immense appreciation for nature’s beauty and bounty, Oceans Republic is passionate about reducing plastic waste in our oceans and rivers. Oceans Republic works hard to reduce its own carbon footprint through reusable materials like bamboo, which is renewable and biodegradable. Oceans Republic has developed many innovative bamboo products over the years such as toothbrushes, cutlery sets, straws, bamboo kitchenware, tableware, office furniture and various hotel amenity products.
All of Oceans Republic's products are made using natural materials that have a minimal environmental impact while being aesthetically pleasing. RIO's mission is to reduce the amount of plastic objects in our world's waters and prevent further accumulation.
